Throat Chakra Basics

Please remember there are many different ways and things to do to activate and balance your chakras. This is very basic information and I welcome more input here. I am learning, too! Please give yourself the opportunity to investigate online, or find a book, as this information here is very, very basic. But please don't be afraid of this! This could be invaluable to your physical and spiritual well-being.

This image was made with the intention to help your Throat Chakra, which is located at the throat, neck and shoulders. This is the first of the chakras traveling up your spine that deal with spiritual aspects of your person.

Throat Chakra (Vishuddha) has everything to do with finding the truth, being authentic, being creative, speaking your truth with kindness, listening... Physically, it governs the throat, thyroid, neck, mouth, tongue and other anatomical components in the neck region. Imbalances here show up as negative thought patterns, difficulties with saying no, self doubt, pain in the area, thyroid trouble...

This is one way of working and maintaining balance with your chakras, by closing your eyes, taking deep breaths in a relaxed, meditative state, and imagining specific colors placed over or in your body along the specific main chakras.Whether you imagine blue light, blue swirling vortex, put the blue color over the Throat Chakra while taking deep breaths, for as long as you feel you can or is necessary. Of course this depends on your time or environment constraints.

There are two more main chakras.
Best Wishes

Heart Chakra Basics

Heart Chakra

This image was made with the intention to help your heart chakra, which is located at the center of the chest, including heart, lungs, breasts, thymus gland. Up to this point, the three chakras (Root, Sacral, Solar Plexus) govern the physical aspects of your person. The three chakras above the Heart Chakra (Throat, Brow, and Crown) deal with spiritual aspects of your person. The Heart Chakra connects the three above with the three below.

Heart Chakra (Anahata) has everything to do with love, compassion, joy, forgiveness, and acceptance, and thus the affirmation, "I love." Imbalances here show up as unresolved grief, holding grievances, jealousy, anger, negativity, betrayal, and hatred.

This is one way of working and maintaining balance with your chakras, by closing your eyes, taking deep breaths and imagining specific colors placed over or in your body along the specific main chakras.Whether you imagine a green light, a green whirligig, a green flower, put the green over your Heart Chakra while taking deep breaths, for as long as you feel you can. Of course this depends on your time or environment constraints.

Solar Plexus Chakra Basics

This image was made with the intention to help your Solar Plexus Chakra, located above the navel over your solar plexus up to the breastbone. So imagine the color yellow over this area extending through your body to your back. It could be yellow light, a yellow flower or lotus, this yellow image, or whatever you come up with, just get the yellow color there.

Solar plexus or third chakra (
Manipura) has everything to do with the perception of who you are, your personal power, being confident, responsible, reliable, your self-esteem, the power of transformation, inertia into action and movement, and thus the affirmation, "I do." Imbalances here show up as metabolism and digestion difficulties, emotional outbursts, feeling stressed out, being passive and inactive, having low self-esteem, difficulty making decisions, and having anger or control issues.

It is important to realize that the use of color and breath meditation are not the only ways to activate and balance your chakras. Activities that involve your senses or using things in your environment can also help, especially when used with your INTENTION to open and balance your chakras. Try wearing a yellow shirt or blouse, burning a yellow candle (this chakra is associated with the element of fire), wearing yellow earrings, carrying golden tigereye. Investigate other solar plexus chakra activities, specific yoga poses, or chants (RAM). Your intention is key here, as it is with so many other things. Intend to balance your chakras, specifically here, burn that yellow candle for instance, with the intention of balancing or activating your Solar Plexus Chakra, and it will be so.

Sacral Chakra Basics

This image was made with the intention to help your sacral chakra, located above the pubic bone and below your navel. So imagine the color orange over this area extending through your body to your back. It could be orange light, an orange flower or lotus, this orange image, or whatever you come up with, just get the orange color there.

Sacral chakra (
Svadhisthana) has everything to do with being passionate, pleasure, feeling emotions, creativity, sensuality, and being in the moment, and thus the affirmation, "I feel." Imbalances here show up as fear of changes, sexual dysfunctions, bladder, kidney or bowel problems, disconnecting, as with addictions, or depression and feeling stuck.

It is important to realize that the use of color and meditation are not the only ways to activate and balance your chakras. Activities that involve your senses or using things in your environment can also help, especially when used with your intention to open and balance your chakras. The list is long, including crystals and stones, essential oils, candle therapy, yoga, dance, art, pendulums, water, earthing, chanting, sound... My goal here is to get you to think about your chakras, and start your own investigations. Whether you believe it or not, you embody this energy system, for lack of better words at the moment. This magic is in you, and could be affecting you more than you think! And you don't have to be a yoga guru to help yourself, you just have to be an expert on YOU.

Root Chakra Basics

Very basically, color therapy involves the sense of vision, but yet your eyes do not need to be open. You can take an image you have seen, maybe like this one, and close your eyes and still see it. That is your IMAGE-ination.

Some people believe they have no imagination, but I want to challenge that person. Have you ever seen the color red (never mind the image here for now)? If you close your eyes, can you imagine the color red, if even for an instant (before your mind wanders)?

This is one way of working and maintaining balance with your chakras, by closing your eyes, taking deep breaths and imagining specific colors placed over or in your body along the specific main chakras.
If you do this, you are meditating! This is energy work you can do in any moment of your life.

This image was made with the intention to help your root chakra, located at the base of your spine. So imagine the color red over the base of your spine coming through to the front of your body. It could be red light, a red lotus, this red image, or whatever you come up with, just get the red there.

Root chakra (Mulhadara) has everything to do with being grounded, feeling solid in your own physical body, and on the face of the Earth; feeling secure, as it is the location of your body's survival center, thus the words "I am." Imbalances here show up as fears, anxieties, or insecurities about basic needs (food, shelter, safety); pain at that spot or in your lower back, your legs or feet.

Red is the beginning, where you start. Up the spine, the colors correspond to the colors of the rainbow: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green/Pink, Blue, Indigo/Purple, Clear or white/Purple.

More posts on each Chakra are coming up SOON!

Best Wishes!
