Mama Trep's Designs (that's me) makes handmade, handcrafted, healing jewelry for body, soul and home, using sterling silver, copper, healing stones, healing crystals, healing symbols and natural elements.
I wanted to give you a little bit of background about me, and maybe some insight as to why I do what I do. This info is also on my shop's profile page, but hardly anyone ever looks there.

I have always made things, and was encouraged
by my parents when I was a kid, who bought craft kits, or let me watch
while they cooked, or sewed, or fixed the car. I was taught to sew,
knit, crochet by my grandmother, and also taught somewhere along the
line that if something didn't work, you fixed it, or made do without it.
I am self taught regarding anything to do with crystals, wire work,
corn husks, soldering, and jewelry fabrication...and am constantly
learning. I get absorbed in the process, and am truly happy doing these
things. I found Etsy and opened my Etsy shop in 2006.
My father is an artist. However, I am not sure if he identifies himself with that. I watched him as I was growing up, repair engines, and take dents out of cars, and later, take plane wrecks and make them beautiful, working airplanes. I grew up around torches, and finally picked one up in the Fall of 2014. In working with wire and metal, I find it is forgiving, it is resilient, and I am stubborn enough not to give up until it is "right." I am constantly trying to do things better, to learn new techniques or improve the process.

There are pretty things in
this world, and my love of sacred geometry drives some of my design
(spirals), as does the natural element (crystals and stones). The beauty
found in nature can provoke an inward glance at self, and in creating
with these elements, I am on a personal journey. Wire wrapped crystals
and stones were the first "product" that I sold, and I have been
wrapping them for over 15 years.
I believe in energy healing, the healing energy of crystals and gemstones, sound and light (or color), and Mother Earth, nature. I easily incorporate this into what I do, the things that I make with my hands, as this is ME. In fact, it is probably a prerequisite for what I do. Recently, I learned of the word numinosity, and how symbols may invoke a response. When I make something, it usually has a special meaning or specific purpose, to raise the vibrations of someone or something in this world.
I am known as Mama Trep, which is a combination name originating from my Yahoo ID, intrepidsoulmate, years ago. The word, "intrepid," means fearless and persistent. When I became a Mama for the second time later in life, some friends online shortened my yahoo name to Mama Trep, and the name just stuck.
